ANYKŠČIAI DISTRICT PUBLIC LIBRARY OF LIUDVIKA AND STANISLOVAS DIDŽIULIAI

History

The library of Anykščiai has a very important role in town‘s
cultural life. Together with the opening of the library, the
first language alley was opened too, along with the name
„Light“. In total there are 10 tiles in the language alley,
which are dedicated to different countries. The words on
each tile say hello in a different language. The library is
open for various events, exhibitions, educational programs,
meetings with writers and artists, as well as tourists. In the
cellar of the library there is „The laboratory of ideas“ – a
space for self-realization for not only youngsters, but for
everyone in general. Inside there is a Professional sound
recording and graphic design studio.
When the libabry was being built, an old XVI century stoveheating
was found, which is now open for visitors. There is
also a unique exhibition of educational posters in Lithuania,
called the anatomy of the book..
